STUDENT EVENT COORDINATOR

(This is a Canada Jobs funded position)

Start Date: July 5^th

Duration: 8 weeks, 35 hours/week

Wage: $16.53/hour

Location: Twillingate, NL

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will assist the Outport REACH team in planning the ROCKCUT RACE WEEKEND 2026 and the JUST 1 Mile Run Club.

For the ROCKCUT RACE WEEKEND responsibilities will include:

·     Solicitation and management of sponsorship from the local business community

·     Management of website and social media channels, including content creation.

·     Assist with trail marking and trail maintenance

·     Assist with runner management, including responding to runner questions and inquiries

·     Assist with other duties related to the planning of the event.

For the Just 1 Mile (Saturday) weekly group runs, responsibilities will include:

·     Manage weekly social media and website updates

·     Find new 1-mile loops

·     Trail marking and way-finding to run start

·     Social media and website updates, including content creation.

·     Manage timing

·     Support runners

To be eligible for Canada Summer Jobs, you must:

·     Be between 15 and 30 years old.

·     Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the job and

·     Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
